Become an Associate,
Step by Step

Becoming an Associate is a process that is lived within one's own state of life; it is responding to the Lord's call to deepen the commitment of one's baptism according to the Gospel, in the light of the charism, spirituality and mission of the family of the Religious Hospitallers of Saint Joseph.

Different steps are proposed:

  • Preliminary meeting with a representative,
  • Personal interview,
  • Basic training,
  • Support and discernment,
  • First engagement.

If the call is confirmed to become an Associate

After a time of in-depth study, participation in group meetings and discussions with people already involved and/or the Religious Hospitallers of Saint Joseph, a time of formation is offered on the history, spirituality, charism and mission of this spiritual family.

At the end of a personalized journey, the person who wishes to become an Associate is invited to make their first commitment to live more specifically the promises of their baptism, in their daily life, with the spiritual color of the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph family.

This commitment is usually made during a celebration with the group the Associate is joining.

Continuing training is then provided. A renewal of commitment is made each year, or for a longer period, after agreement with the head of the group concerned.
